We are located in the north-east of Sardinia, in Gallura, in a unique stretch of coastline, artistically shaped by nature and by the wind. The famous Roccia d’Orso is proof of this, together with the entire 3,397m2 of land bordered by a fabulous sea and the towns of Arzachena, Tempio Pausania and Santa Teresa Gallura.
Palau is a lively and modern place, one of Gallura’s important port and tourist towns which is very popular during the summer season due to its strategic location. Its quaint old part is livened up during the summers by an evening market, and it has a marina which operates all year round and which is home to 400 berths suitable for vessels up to 18 meters.
Again, the sea and the beaches are the strong points of the best summer destinations for holidays in Sardinia. Palau is, in fact, the port of access to the Archipelago of La Maddalena and its National Park. Since 2012, the beaches of Palau Vecchio and Sciumara have been awarded the Blu Flag, together in 2014 with the beaches of Isuledda at Porto Pollo and the beach at Liscia but the landscapes in the direction of Cala Trana and Punta Sardegna are no less spectacular.
The coastline is varied and you will find not only beaches of fine white sand bathed by the blue-green waters, but also picturesque coves and headlands that descend to the sea, like the one located in Capo d'Orso where the Park Hotel Cala di Lepre is located.
The flora that dominates the Palau countryside is the typical Mediterranean maquis, while the wildlife is characterized by the presence of numerous small wild animals such as turtles, red partridges, doves and hares (hence the name of the Park Hotel). Sardinia has no animals that are dangerous to humans either on land or sea, thus it is one of the safest tourist destinations in the world.
